PPPD Media Release: Clarification Regarding an Internal PPPD Email Post
INCIDENT SUMMARY:
Yesterday evening an internal email was distributed to police department personnel sharing information regarding a possible case of the coronavirus at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. Shortly thereafter, a follow-up advisory email was distributed internally advising that there was no case of the coronavirus at the hospital.
Through unknown means, the original advisory email was publicly shared across various social media platforms.
Please know that any public post referencing this email advisory should be disregarded. Contrary to the original information that we had received, we have since learned that there was never a case of the coronavirus at Memorial Regional Hospital. The original advisory email was unconfirmed and precautionary in nature.
